The supercontinent of Pangaea created an extreme change of climate that harmed the environment due to its vast size
Many of the reptiles had to find ways to deal with the variety of tempertautre
changes through out the day from below freezing at night to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit

The therapsids flourished during the Permian. They quickly evolved into different forms such as
dinosaur-like fanged flesh-eaters to plodding herbivores.

It is estimated to have wiped out more than 90 percent of all marine species and 70 percent of land animals.

A theory that is suggested from scientist is that a
series of volcanic eruptions pumped so much debris into the atmosphere that the sun was blocked out

this causeda significant drop in temperature and prevented plant photosynthesis, which then caused food chains to collapse

Rock formed at that time were stained red by iron oxides, the result of intense heating by the sun of a surface devoid of vegetation cover. the old types of plants and animals died out.

_a list of the animanls that were around ths time and were affected by the massive Moschops__

including Edaphosaurus, Dimetrodon, and other pelycosaurs; Eryops, Diplocaulus, archosaurs, amphibians, fish, and lots of invertebrates (like insects, worms, etc.).
